Strong Women are Stronger Together series - Bri Luginbill Edition
Meet Bri Luginbill.
Bri is a body positive and self-compassion coach. She is the nicest person I’ve ever met. She loves everyone she meets and wants to help them. Bri’s mission is to truly impact an individual and help them learn how to love themselves and their body. She inspires individuals, educators, and parents to be consistent mentors in each person's life through workshops, speaking, and events. She was born with a syndrome that caused her to go through 12 years of physical therapy to ensure her body was growing healthy, which caused self-consciousness about her body image.
I met Bri last year when she posted on a closed Facebook group asking for people to be on her podcast. I had heard about how amazing Bri was through friends so I quickly messaged her and said I’d love to be a guest on her podcast. Because she is the kindest person you’ll ever meet, she agreed to have me on. I was honored, grateful, and suddenly I felt sick to my stomach because I had never done a podcast and don’t love public speaking on any platform. Bri made me feel comfortable and validated when I shared my personal journey on her podcast, she also made me tea, invited me into her home and let me love on her adorable Corgi.
We instantly hit it off and decided we needed to collaborate on something. We are both passionate about self-love and helping others find it. We came up with a workshop celebrating individuals just the way they are.We feel that most of new year marketing is geared to creating a new you or a better version of you. We wanted to focus on our internal selves and promote wellness in a whole new light. I will be leading a restorative yoga class that is accessible to everyone followed by a short meditation. Bri will teach us how to convert negative self-talk or self-critical thoughts into self-kind statements.
We also both love brunch so we asked Colleen Kokx of Mitten Dietician to join us as a host. Colleen will chat about intuitive eating, a non-diet approach to food and nutrition that focuses on putting an end to chronic dieting, repairing relationships with food and becoming in-tune with your internal body cues. She’s also making a delicious waffle bar...because who doesn’t love brunch?
If money were no object, what would you spend most of your time doing?
Bri: Helping others locally and globally! My family and I have always wanted to live in another state or country too. And my career change recently is in hopes this may happen someday. I decided to change career directions recently. I found myself often having lunch or coffee meetings with other entrepreneurs or friends and I would listen and offer advice (only when asked). The advice was more in the life coaching realm than business. I realized I had been doing this all my life even before I was an adult. I absolutely LOVE to help others learn how to let go of their past and live in the present. I do this because I was just able to learn these behaviors this year and it's changed how I interact with life, situations and people. I want to help others who may have went through something similar, but didn't have the tools. It took me awhile to learn what worked best for me and that was self-compassion.
What inspires you?
Bri: So many things! People, places, deep conversations. I guess constant learning is what continuously inspires me.
I hope you will join us this Saturday, it’s going to be so much fun!
